Quaestor SAC

This is a prototype SAC based upon Quaestor. It is version 0.4, released 2009 May 25. It's part of the JISC-funded SKUA project.

A SAC is a Semantic Annotation Collection, which allows users or applications to store and share bookmarks, comments, and other annotations. This implementation is a prototype one, which may or may not become the project's main SAC implementation. There are other implementations (loosely) planned. See the project's 'vision' for the overall plan, and the list of user stories for the detailed functionality we expect to add in the future.

If you discover any problems with the code, built applications, or documentation (perish the thought...), you can let us know about them either through the project's issues list, or by contacting one the project people – thanks!

Resources

Download and installation
The qsac service is distributed in two forms. The first is a .war file, which can be dropped into a Tomcat installation, the second is a .jar file which can be run to start a standalone server. For more details, see the installation and configuration notes.
Get started
We have a tutorial to get you started.
Release notes
Keep up to date!.
Interface
The service supports the SAC interface. This is more formally described in the project's WADL file (see the WADL spec for documentation on this). This interface recognises a large number of MIME types, enough that it seems useful to have a separate MIME type summary.
Source code
See the project site for more information and downloads, or the Google code site for the project source code and wiki.
